Inspection Services
Product inspections can save you enormous amounts of time and money
especially at the beginning of the production of a new product. GQS can
provide inspections to ensure that product and packaging quality meet
your requirements, before the product ships! Normally these inspections
are performed to detailed criteria determined in advance by you, the
client. GQS can also provide product specifications based on our broad
experience with a wide range of products and processes. We understand
the important quality requirements for most products produced in Asia
due to our experience performing these inspections on similar products.
Per client request, we can also document specific quality inspection
plans for your product to ensure that what is important to you is
checked. Inspection sampling is performed per MIL STD 105E or C=0 plans
per the client's requirements. Each client can determine the acceptable
quality limits (AQL) for critical, major and minor defects, or GQS can
recommend limits based on product knowledge. Our product inspections
fall into two general categories; in-process and final.
In-Process Inspections
Some product quality is heavily dependent on processes which cannot clearly be determined at final inspection. For certain products we may recommend that we visit the supplier several days before the final packaging to ensure that product quality is being ensured on the line. Normally this inspection involves several documented checkpoints where samples of in-process work is inspected to ensure that the quality is correct, even prior to final assembly. Normally, this is followed up by a final inspection once the product is packed to ensure that all final assembly, packaging and labeling requirements are met. Once the process has stabilized this extra step can be skipped, and final inspection alone will provide adequate protection.
All inspections are developed to ensure that the purchases is protected. Once defective product has shipped to your dock the cost of inspection, sorting and repair can quickly become exorbitant! In-process inspections have been found to significantly shorten the "learning curve" for suppliers of a new product, ensuring faster ramp-ups with on schedule deliveries.
Final Inspections
GQS also provides Final, pre-shipment inspection services, designed to
ensure that product is correct before it ships. All samples are
statistically representative of the lot of material and are based on
predetermined Acceptable Quality Limits (AQLs) determined by the client.
All problems identified during a final inspection are discussed in a
positive, professional manner with the supplier so corrective action can
be developed. GQS focuses on finding solutions, not merely identifying
problems. We ensure that the supplier is aware of what the problem is
so that rework is effective. We will also help the supplier improve the
process so the next lot does not have the same problems. GQS does not
just find the problems, we also find the solutions.
